Sound transmission through vegetation foliage in an anechoic chamber was studied with species originated from temperate and tropical zones. The foliage acts as a filter for the noise. At the mid-frequency range (<2 kHz) the noise is slightly amplified, and at high frequencies the noise is attenuated. The sound pressure level is decreased by the plant foliage.
